Foundations of First Nation Administration

Virtual & In-Person Series

Event Date: August 21, 2023 - October 5, 2023

In-Person Times: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (Monday to Thursday)

Virtual Times: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

In-Person Week 1 Location: The Parkside Hotel & Spa in Victoria, BC.

Week 2 - 5 location: Virtual, on Zoom.

In-Person Week 6 Location: The Courtyard by Marriot in Prince George, BC.

The First Nations Public Service Secretariat (FNPSS) invites First Nations Band Managers, Chief Administrative Officers and Executive Directors, or those in an equivalent role looking to expand their network, skills and knowledge in administration to register for the 2023 offering of Foundations of First Nation Administration.

This will be a 6-week comprehensive, introductory series, which combines virtual and in-person learning. This course will feature 24 sessions by experts and key note speakers and will provide opportunities for wellness check-ins, networking and skills development.

Through active engagement and collaboration, participants will strengthen their understanding of topics integral to First Nations administration such as strategic planning, leadership skills, finance, contracts, communications, community engagement, economic development and more!

To be eligible participants must currently work in a Band Manager/Chief Administrative Officer role in a First Nation government and have Chief and Council approval to attend all sessions, including both in-person weeks. Travel reimbursement will only be provided for participants who commit to attending all virtual and in-person sessions.

Please note, submission of this form does not guarantee a seat in the course. FNPSS will follow up and confirm your registration. Seats will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
